When I was a little girl, I loved to watch and learn, No matter how things appeared on the surface, I realized there was beauty in everything. There are many people who can't seem to see below the surface of people, nature, events, but I believe it is important to try to do this every day. This is what I strive to show in my art. If we take time to stop and think, to feel and see, we are able to get below the surface and appreciate the imperfections in life and often those times possess the most beauty. Imperfections are what make life perfect.
I'm a self-taught artist. I did not have lessons. I learned from my mom, family and friends, the internet, TV, and books. I've experimented with all types of mediums. From pencil, pen and ink, to watercolor, oils , and acrylics, I've tried them all. I've painted on canvas, signs, wood, rocks and even cardboard. I've used everything from plastic containers to cut into shapes to floor tiles and old tools. Art has given me the great freedom to explore and create Art.
I appreciate all types of art, but create more realistic works of art more often then not. There are times when the flow of the painting takes me on a more expressive color or energetic composition and when this happens I just go with it. Art, I've learned is boundless. There are no rules sometimes it's best to just hang on for the ride, never give up, and never let go.
My art was featured at Jesse Besser Museum in the summer art exhibits of 2007 and 2013. It has also been featured on Michigan Magazine TV. an WBKB TV. I will do commissioned work. I also have written and illustrated several books, Today's Girls Jovi Bri, Today's Girls Ellery Rose, ART of a Child, Julian and the Dragonfly, Addison and the Butterfly, The little Glumpkins, Just a Walk, Just Breathe, My Full Circle, Caring Moments & Tender Memories I and II. I just recently illustrated Isabelle a girl who loves life.
